Just wondered about people’s experience of the hellish journey that is codeine withdrawal. Took last dose Sunday at 2pm and today is SATURDAY 😩and I still don’t feel right. Literally been in bed since Tuesday. Every time I get up to do something I’m floored again. Still got the headache and my vision not normal, everything is too bright and makes my eyes sore. The low mood and fatigue is STILL here. I’m technically on day 7 since 2pm this afternoon, don’t know how much longer can live like this till I break !! ( take codeine , feel normal and go about my business !). I don’t want to though got this far. Just want to know when the end of the darn tunnel comes !!!

Hi,

I am currently going through codeiene withdrawal I was taken far too many. I am on day three and my legs are beyond painful. Can anybody tell me how long this will last for I'm finding difficult even getting to the bathroom everything hurts

I didn't think you could get pure codeine over the counter. When I asked for codeine, the pharmacist said they could not sell just codeine. So where you on prescription codeine?

Well done, by the way!

Any updates from OP or those we went through it in the comments?
How long did it take for your moods to lift?

@MumOfBoys6 I'm on day 4 of no codeine. It's been a 10 year addiction for me with a short break 7.5 years ago during pregnancy. For some reason I got through it ok when pregnant. I think I put all the withdrawals down to pregnancy/knowing it was for my baby made me stronger. This time has been hell. Diarrhoea was only on day 2 but it was horrendous. Worst things now are restless legs and rapid heart rate. DD is at her dad's and I'm telling myself once I am better I'll have more money for her and there'll be no more dragging her round chemists. I can't wait to be free of this. It's been controlling my life for so long.
