Bedtime Story

Hello,

Do you read your DC a bedtime story? At what age did you start?

DS is almost 8 months and I keep reading about a story being part of the bedtime routine at this stage. However, our bedtime routine is bath, bottle and bed. His last bottle is given in his room with only the night light on and he falls asleep pretty quickly once he's finished. I'm worried that by reading to him it will stimulate him and keep him awake.

Since she was born (genuinely), she loves it and it’s probably the best part of my day

I've read to both of mine from about 2 months, for a time I read the The Rabbit who wanted to Sleep, which put everyone to sleep, sometimes me included. Now they are 3 and 5 I read them both 2/3 short stories or a longer one to my older DC.
I think reading to children is really really important, but if bedtime doesn't work for you, another time of the day is OK.

I'd do it before the bath at this point if he's not particularly engaged with books
