Is an itchy bum the only symptom of worms?

My son complained of an itchy bum last night, and is complaining again. Could it be worms? How do I tell? (typical that it happens on a friday night!!)

yes, i think it is the only symptom of threadworms. And, to my memory, it only happens at night!

If I were you I would nip up to the duty chemist!

I have heard people on here say they've waited until dc is asleep and then shone a torch on the bottom to see the worms. I think this requires a strong stomach.

Itchy bum at night and not during the day always signals worms for me. When the itching starts ask them to let you have a look. You can see the little white thread thing/s wriggling.
Call at the chemist and get some Ovex or Pripsen. Wonderful stuff

You can see them wriggling in the toilet! Oh lovely.

Treat the whole family if I were you - v. infectious.
