So, as part of the access course I am doing, I have to do gcse English. This was my fave lesson at school, but I only achieved a C in English Lit and a D in language.

So, a couple of weeks ago we were asked to think of a film, play, book or something which we had seen/read that had an efect on us and write about why it had effected us etc.
I chose to write about when I was 15 and was taken to see Schindlers List as part of our history lesson.

Well I got my essay back today and the tutor said it was 'brilliant, a very powerful and emotive response to a powerful film', he said he was very impressed.

Then as part of our actual coursework we were asked to write an autobiographical piece about an event in our lives. We had to take our first draft in today for him to check.
He called me up to go through mine and said that it was again brilliant, very well written and that I was a very good writer and he really enjoyed reading it and had no reccomendations to make as to how it could be improved as it was great how it was.

Well done!!
We know you have a great style of writing - maybe all the practice on MN has honed your skills to a formidable degree!!!

nutcracker · 16/10/2007 20:07

LOL, there was me thinking that my style of writing on here would make people reading this think 'eh, she must be joking'

I was really pleased though I have to admitt. We have to do piece of fictional writing soon and I can't wait to do that.

My friend reckons I should do an English degree instead of a nursing one lol.

nutty, how fab! I am very pleased for you

And incidentally, I've always thought you can be quite articulate when you put your mind to it
