How long is/was your daughter's hair when...

...when they just turned 2? DD's hair seems like it hasn't grown at all for a good few months at least. When I look at other girls her age, they all seem to have hair that is much much longer than hers and I'm not sure if I should be concerned or not. Her hair is also very thin so there's not much of it. Is this normal at this age? She eats and drinks really well and takes vitamins as well.

Not long at all. Mine didn't get her first haircut until she was 6. Apparently I was still completely bald at 2.

GreyishDays · 06/11/2020 11:34

My DDs was quite thin until about six and then thickened up. Same with younger DS actually.

@mindutopia oh okay, that makes me feel a little better! I started to feel really concerned! Thank you Smile

@GreyishDays thank you, I'm glad this is more common than I thought Blush

Loads of thick curly hair but not particular long.
However she was born with loads of hair!

Sunnydaysstillhere · 06/11/2020 11:36

I have ds's and dd's. Ds's all had loads of hair at 2. Tumbling curls most of them!! Dd's was wild and troll like at 2!!
Dd's all ended up with beautiful hair as they got older..

parrotonmyshoulder · 06/11/2020 11:39

None really! Now waist length pre raphaelite red curls at 11.

MoirasRoses · 06/11/2020 13:20

DD1 had long, thick hair by 2.. but she has since a baby. She needed it cutting by 6 months! DD2 is 7 months & barely has any hair in comparison! She’s going to have as much at one as her sister did at 4 months 😂

DickKerrLadies · 06/11/2020 13:22

No hair at 2 but she's now 11 and it's bloody wild and I curse myself for ever wishing her hair to grow Grin

On the bright side, easy to keep clean and less chance of nits!

Greenhairbrush · 06/11/2020 13:23

Dd had hair just touching her shoulders at 2. But she has fast growing hair like me.

You can put the whole question in the thread title on Mumsnet.

My little girl has just turned 2 and essentially has a curly pixie cut. Pretty short but growing upwards and outwards with the curls! Grin

Dinosauratemydaffodils · 06/11/2020 13:28

Below her shoulders but she was born with loads of hair and it never fell out. She's definitely an outlier though. Half her friends still have very short hair. She was two in June.

GrumpySausage · 06/11/2020 13:32

My daughter is 2yrs 4 months and still has very short hair.

She went through a phase around 18 months of pulling it in her sleep and ended up with some good bald patches so I had it cut bavk really short an it's never really caught back up. It's very thick but barely last the nape of her neck. Reading this thread has made realise that it's not uncommon at that age.
My son, however had his first hair cut at 8 months and would have bum length hair by this age if I'd left it. Such a waste!

helloxhristmas · 06/11/2020 13:41

Practically bald!

cartonwheel · 06/11/2020 15:44

Hi all, thank you so much for replying. I will definitely stop stressing now Grin
