Story books for us to read to 4-year old DD

Hi there,

DD is just turning 4 and is showing less and less interest in picture books (Julia Donaldson, etc.).

She's got a few story books, mainly things that I remember from my childhood:

My Naughty Little Sister (which we edit on the fly while we're reading it to her as it hasn't aged brilliantly), the full selection of Beatrix Potter books (which we also edit, as whipping young rabbits is frowned upon in modern society), The Worst Witch, Winnie the Pooh, The Invisible Dog etc.

What books do your 4-year-olds enjoy?
(I have a semi-rational hatred of David Walliams books).

Mr Gum is ace.
Longer picture books like 'the kiss that missed' and 'the pirate cruncher'. The longer Dr Seuss books (good for early reading skills). Those books that are called 'stories for X year olds' are good. I think there's a 4 year olds one but there's definitely a 5 year olds one.

Enid Blyton - there are loads for younger readers like the wishing chair, Mr pink whistle, brer rabbit etc

Owl Babies is a lovely one.

Also loads of Julia Donaldson ones.
