Can I claim CB and tax free childcare? As in, they’re not mutually exclusive are they? As long as I’m eligible for both I can claim both?

Yep, you can claim both.

Yes. You should have been getting CB from the birth of your child (there’s a limit - I think 2 children, I cannot remember) provided you are eligible (I’m not sure exactly what would make you not eligible tbh).
In most cases Child Tax Credit has been replaced by Universal Credit however... but if you get the severe disability premium for a child (linked to other benefits) then you can make a new claim for Child Tax Credit

Amazing thanks both! I was completely unaware of CB until a friend mentioned it in passing today. That’s over a year of unclaimed money 🤦🏼‍♀️

There is no limit as to how many children you can claim Child Benefit for. There is a high income child benefit charge if you or your partner/dh earns over £50k where you have to pay back some of the money you receive. Once you reach £60k the full amount would need to be paid back (or you can opt out of payment)
