Naps wise, DS only napped in the sling, pram, or car for most of the first 12 months. I stopped fighting it fairly early on and just went for long walks with the dog, or long drives in the car and enjoyed the time listening to my audio book and drinking a hot coffee in peace. He now only naps in his cot and won't nap in the pram, which presents its own problems. I think it's very easy to get hung up on fighting all these things but do whatever you can to ensure you all get enough rest and a peaceful life. If that means not napping in the cot for now then that's ok, it will come in time.
