If so, how traumatic was it??!! Have booked for my DD (6 weeks) and am getting worried about how she will respond to it done - have a feeling she will be screaming the place down!!
Also how did they turn out, and are you glad you had them done?

Yes!

DS had them done and he grizzled a tiny little bit when they did his hand. DD has jsut had hers done and she just ooked really intently at them unclenching her hand and then them pressing it into the clay and did not bat an eyelid.

I don't think its traumatic at all as they are well practised in doing it and it only takes a moment for them to do the imprint.

Obviously I thought it was great as i've had DDs done!

DD had some imprints done at 2 weeks old - unfortunately she screamed the place down (the cold clay on her little hands and feet upset her I think) but she soon recovered afterwards. The end result was lovely and I'm so pleased we had it done. I'd definitely recommend it.

Yes - neither of mine batted an eyelid and they are BEAUTIFUL!!!

yes but she was 8 months, it was nice and easy, and well worth it!!

BooMama · 17/10/2004 10:22

Yes, my ds was 13 months - the only problem was it was in summer and he had sunblock on his feet which didn't help!
Had my dd done at 7 weeks and she was fine. Am glad I had it done when she was tiny as they are so dinky!
My only niggle is when they painted her (4) names on they started too far over and it is a bit crammed in on the right - iyswim. There was plenty of room on ds's but because he was older and had bigger imprints he ended up with a bigger piece of plaster to write on!

I had it done for DS when he was 6 weeks. He really didn't seem to mind at all - maybe a small squeal but it was over very quickly (he had one hand and foot done).

We were very impressed with them and it is a lovely thing to have

We had DS done when he was 11 weeks old - he was asleep when we got there for our appointment and I felt very guilty getting him out of the pram to have his hand and foot pressed into clay. But I swallowed that down and he only squeaked briefly when she did his foot. Then he went straight back to sleep

They're now hanging on his wall and they look so gorgeous - I'm quite sure he'll love them when he's older and should we have more babies, we'll get them done too (probably with 'big brother' prints in the same frame - too cute for words!).

I'd really recommend them - they're a lovely record (and IMO look better than the 3D ones - they look too scary for my liking - like amputated body parts!)
