Baby eating huge amounts of milk!

Hey everyone,

My little girl is 5 weeks tomorrow and I’m a bit worried about her milk intake.

She has around 5 feeds a day and has about 6oz with every feed. Most times it’s every 4 hours and then a good 6/7 hours at night but other times she’ll sleep 6 hours in the day before her next feed! (She’s formula fed - cow and gate)

She’ll often want more after 6 too but I’m convinced that’s just her comfort feeding at that point

Is this something I should be worried about?

Thank you Smile

I’ve just scrolled back in my tracker app to see what mine was eating at that age.. I log all the feed timings and amounts! Most of my daily totals were around 1000ml at that age which is well over 30oz, although mine was having little and often at that point! If your little one is hungry, feed her, she’ll soon let you know if she’s had enough 😊

The recommended amount is 150-200 ml per kg of body weight per day. So if your baby is (for example) 4.5 kg that would be around 24-30 oz a day. Sounds about right!
