Overseas visitors for 1.5 months old baby. Corona?!

Hi!

I'd like to hear some opinions about family coming by plane to visit a newborn. My entire family lives far away and they intend to come to visit my newborn when he is 1 - 1.5 months old. With all this corona situation I can't avoid thinking on planes as huge boxes full of germs and diseases that can be passed onto my baby! We're talking about 3 or 4 different relatives coming by plane. Do you think is safe to let them come so early or should I insist on them coming a couple of months later, when the baby is stronger?

No. Wait. Or at least have them quarantine for 2 weeks after travelling and before visiting

To be honest I would wait. It'll be stressful enough with a month old baby let alone worrying about the risk of covid. I'm worried about my family visiting us from the UK (we're abroad) and my son is 18 months old!

I would insist on a few months later. They can come now but it would be a viewing for me rather than cuddles. I have a newborn and we are doing viewings with us sitting by front door and family standing in garden.

If you are not comfortable with them visiting, the time to set boundaries is now. The only opinion that matters is yours, so don't be bullied into doing something you're uneasy about.

Yeah, I think you all are right. I'm already not a fan of newborns being too much in contact with people other than their parents but didn't want to make a big deal about the entire family coming by plane... But yes, I better get them coming later. Thanks! 😊😘
