13wk old sucking finger so far into mouth he is sick

Hi my 13 week old has been sucking his fist for weeks. He now sucks it with the index finger pointing in the mouth and the rest of the fist clenched.

He is somehow managing tonsuck so hard and get his finger so far into his mouth (I think) that he is making himself gag and be sick.

Any suggestions?

Yeah they do that. Eventually they work out cause and effect and stop, but until then just keep taking his hand out and distracting him.

I can remember my DSister saying to my eldest "your gag reflex is not a toy"

If you don't like it, or it's making him uncomfortable, maybe try him with a dummy instead?
