Baby always tries to eat floor in tummy time?

Ok bit of a weird one...

EVERY time I try to put my baby (2 months) down for tummy time she tries to root and feed off the floor! I dont know why being on her tummy kicks in her feeding instincts but it's the same if I lie her face down on me, on a mat, put a pillow under her chest, etc. She wont make any effort to lift her head and just sucks the floor which I worry is also unhygienic! Then she gets frustrated when no milk comes out and we have to end tummy time after a few minutes! I've even tried tummy time after a big feed and she still does it.

I stopped breastfeeding a good few weeks ago and I never really put her in a tummy down position to feed so it really is a strange habit shes got!

Does anyone else baby do this? How do you get them to stop?

DS did the same. We got a round tummy time pillow for him it lifted his head enough that he figured out something else was going on, he stopped doing it when he was able to control his head well and look around better.

My daughter did this at 2 months. I think when she got to three (or even three and a half) months she stopped eating the floor quite so much :)

Never did tummy time.
Dc still crawled early and hit all milestones.
New fangled fad imo!!
