What have you been telling your little ones about the 'lockdown'?

Ds is 5 he asks every day can he go to school and where are we going today? He looks out the window and sees a beautiful day and wants to enjoy it.
What have you been telling your young ones? I dont want to scare him but I also want him to understand its serious rather than him think I'm being a mean mummy keeping him in.

I have told dd 5 that there is a bug that is tiny but makes some people poorly and to keep people healthy her school has shut for a short time. I wasnt sure what to tell her about lockdown but she pretty soon realised that something was going on when she woke up and daddy was still home. So we told her that daddy's work had shut for a little while to keep the bug away. She then asked for breakfast so I think she took it ok lol
We haven't talked about not going out places. I'm hoping to distract her by the new garden toys i bought i anticipation for lockdown.
