5yo DD has had some social problems and has found it hard to have a connection with other DC in education so far. She now has a friend at primary school and has been on a playdate to her house and the mum has suggested that her friend have a playdate at ours too.

One problem we have is that DH works nights and sleeps all day and would not want DD and her friend playing in the house while he was asleep. I am trying to think of options of somewhere to take them where they can connect and have fun.

Obviously DD is very invested in this as it's her first friend and is trying to think a lot about where they should go/what they should do and IMO is spending too much time being anxious about it or making her friend happy.

Do you have any suggestions of what we could do? We are in central London

gambado in Chelsea? Its a play centre, so has a soft play area as well as dodgems and a carousel. lots to do and they could have lunch there too

Can the play date happen during your dh 'awake' time?
If you want to go out, local park, local play area. Don't shlep two five year olds right up into town.
Or if you do live that centrally, the Princess Diana playground in Hyde Park/Kensington Gardens
