Hi, I have my step kids today, DH is in work until 3, no problem as we spend a lot of time together so we're all comfortable with each other 😁

Over the Christmas weeks we have been so busy with the kids, taking them to trampoline parks, walks in the forest, pantomimes, cinemas you name is. Although it has been absolutely lovely I think we're all a bit wiped out! We're very art and crafty so love things like that, and we also love to bake. Any ideas that you've loved with your kids doing in the house? We made candles a few weeks ago and that was really good fun! I was going to take them shopping for a make your own something kit but thought I'd check if anyone has any ideas here!

Just something to keep us busy for a few hours 😁 thanks!

Slime? Have you looked on Pinterest? Could you make a gingerbread house? I find it's tricky to 'glue'' it together but it's good fun.

We've done slime a few times but it's always a hit so may make some of that again as we have all the stuff in 😁

Completely forgot about Pinterest, I'm gonna have a look now! Love the gingerbread house idea, I'll see what they fancy!

Thanks so much!

Making dinner and dessert together ready to share with their Dad when he gets home, and down time playing with their gifts and playing games together

@OnlyFoolsnMothers we've already cleared out their old toys and their new ones are in their rooms nice and tidy, but just remembered we bought them both crazy science kits so maybe we can get them out and do some experiments😁 thanks!

Ikea sell a brilliant gingerbread house kit and it would use up the Christmas sweets.

Cut out the Christmas cards into tags for next year? You could even tie ribbons onto them.

Buying plain photo frames to decorate is always a fun one - you can glue things to them and/or paint them. Plain storage boxes (perhaps to house new things) ditto.

Have a clear out of old toys/books/clothes, get them on marketplace or ebay. Rearrange cupboards, bedrooms, etc. Make some new art for the bedroom walls or to jazz up furniture?

We're making the family tree from Stick Man with all the inner cardboard tubes from the wrapping paper.

susso · 27/12/2019 12:47

Thanks @midsummabreak they've decided they want to make him spaghetti carbonara for tea and chocolate fudge cake for dessert- rather sophisticated for a 6 and 8 year old I think

Thanks @BertieBotts I love the photo frame idea! Will pick some up cheap from wilko!

Had a busy Xmas similar with nice days out meeting friends and yesterday meeting up with family for Boxing Day traditions.

Dh bak to work today,me and dc still in pjs but I've done two loads of washing,am just about to put a baskets worth away and then we are sorting out youngest dds gifts.
Both dc have been happy playing with all the crafty things they got while I've watched tv and drank coffee in bed in between washing.
Now off upstairs with black bags for rubbish collection.

No plans to actually go out so no getting dressed Grin
