Just some fun

Since becoming a mum cutlery is the loudest thing ever!! Any thing to do with it, washing it, putting it away (a marching band in living room would cause less disturbance), eating with it. I never realised it made such a racket and at just the right kind of sharp decimal to wake a sleeping baby lol

Am considering buying some biodegradable plastic itemsConfused

I have noticed every door in our house seems to creak but on a positive my husband is much quieter when he gets up or comes in from work Grin

NewMum293 · 15/12/2019 14:54

Turning on the kitchen tap runs the water through the pipes ridiculously loudly - you can hear it so clearly in my daughter’s room!

The god damn tannoy announcements in supermarkets 😭 I don’t need to know that Denise has to come to the till, can you not radio her? Ha.

The boiler.

Dogs barking.

Car alarms.

All the things that never used to bother me before.

Also toddlers shouting loudly for absolutely no reason, but I’ll have one of those soon so can’t complain 🤣🙈

Floor boards, so many creaky floor boards 😱

sewinginscotland · 15/12/2019 20:56

The kettle! It's a baby alarm clock.

I managed to wake DS up from a nap earlier by opening the fridge.

I've had the husband oil every hinge he can find, but there's nothing that we can do about the floorboards.

Things that wake my baby/give him a fright:
Delivery drivers knocking on the door
Putting dishes away
Opening a can of juice
Opening a packet of crisps

Fuckwheresitgone · 15/12/2019 21:56

I find my male is quieter than meGrinGrinGrin

Jodie77 · 15/12/2019 21:57

Once they are in bed asleep and everything is lovely and quiet, then I literally jump out of my skin if anything makes a noise whereas during the day I can't hear myself think. It's like two completely different states of being. On the odd occasion I manage to wake up before my kids, the moment I dare even turn a light on or open the fridge or whatever they are awake and shouting, screaming, running around, demanding bum changes, bottles or breakfast.

My joints. I will be kneeling down beside the cot until DD drifts off and then as soon as I go to stand up - "CRACK". I'm not even 30 yet FFS ConfusedBlush

Clips on feeding bras! Not that it wakes my baby up but when I've carefully out him back in his crib after a feed clipping my bra back up feels like the loudest thing at night!

katmarie · 16/12/2019 06:26

My dh clearing his throat. It's never bothered me before but now seems to be the loudest thing ever.

Also dh's snoring. I usually sleep through it but apparently the baby does not.

piercedmyfootonaspike · 16/12/2019 06:31

my burps Blush

Fluffballs · 16/12/2019 10:36

Cat paws Confused the second the baby's napping the house becomes a race track apparently.

therewerefour · 16/12/2019 13:17

Celotape
Scissors when your cutting wrapping paper
All SO loud

GrassWasGreener · 16/12/2019 22:34

Haha these are all fantastic

Good to know we are not alone in trying to channel our inner ninjas round the house during nap time!

We have also gone round with a can of wd40 to spray every hinge anywhere

I have given DH a muffler pillow which must be placed over his face during throat clearing, coughing or sneezing etc... it was either that or I was going to stab him Xmas Shock

Still trying to work out how to do the dog's instantly shaking once DD falls asleep, especially as normally they do it next to the crate and bash their tail off the crate door - shake, nails slipping on floor, door rattle then door crash against side of crate... we are doomed really. It's amazing she sleeps at all
