How did you know it was time to move baby into own room?

My ds is 7 months and I'm starting to think it's time to move him into his own room. He's a very unsettled sleeper and I think when I move in bed at night it wakes him.
When he wakes he tosses and turns for a while then goes back to sleep. However at that point I'm awake. This happens on average 1-3 times a night depending on how lucky i am lol.
Does anyone have any experience of this and do you think it's time to move him into his own room?

We moved our boy at 5.5 months for that very reason - we were disturbing him when we came up to bed, got up in the night, turned over, hubby snoring. Baby is so noisy aswell that we were all just keeping each other awake. He slept much better in his own room.
We recently went away for a few nights and I just booked a 1 bed apartment to save money (tight wad) and oh my life it was awful. Between him and my husband I was done in!!
He’s 8 months now.

Thanks @Abouttimemum . His cot is arriving tomorrow so I think we'll do the transition over the weekend. Hopefully this will improve both of our sleep!

We did it bang on six months for this reason, we all kept each other awake.. I then regretted it as I spent most of the night camped out in her bedroom and got even less sleep, I think she missed us being in the same room. Hmm

Moved him at 6 months because he kept waking every time we went to bed, he sleeps much better in his own room. Good luck with the transition, it took my DS a few nights to get used to it Smile

Dead on six months. Having DT’s in our room was destroying our sleep. We put them into separate rooms as they slept better on their own without waking each other up

When LO was feeding less at night and we started to get worse sleep being in the same room c 6-7months too

As you say really, when you start to disturb them by not doing much. I think DS was 8 months.

Because we moved to a 2 bed flat - 15 months

Yes definitely time to move in my opinion. We moved ours bang on 6 months as she'd wake when we snuck into the bed, moved, coughed, snored etc, so basically was nearly waking on the hour. Loves her own room and her big cot, and nice quiet space!

DS1 because he was sleeping better when I wasn't there - he was about 2 though.

DS2 we just moved him at a year in hope he would sleep longer. Still waiting at 15 months.
