Hello Lil
Got back from my hols last night to find my latest TMA result.
A200 well now. A LOT of reading. Sometimes rather frustrating when you are really getting into a particular unit and you have four weeks to do all the reading then a week to write the essay and on to the next completely different topic - so not nearly as much time to go in-depth on the topic as you would like. I have really enjoying doing it but feel I am whizzing past in an express train when I would like to slow down and take a look at the scenery.
On the plus side though it is a great overview and you learn a lot about the use of primary sources to understand what happened and why.
I would recommend it however if you are prepared to put the time in to the reading, because to get good marks in the assignments you really need to be on top of the material and there is a heck of a lot of reading involved - but really interesting reading.

Hello and thanks

I'm doing A217, Introducing Religions at the moment and it sounds very similar. 4 weeks on one religion, with a study guide and a text book and then a TMA, then straight onto the next religion, another study guide and another text book.

I did find this quite hard at first and wasn't sure if it was the transition from A103 to a second year course being a big step and my brain wasn't as good as I thought it was or if it was a genuinley hard course. There have been lots of foreign terms to learn (we have a glossary of them which is about the size of a cosmo )

I feel a bit stuck with my next second yar choice as I feel that whatever I pick next will be somehting that I will ahve to continue into the third year as I won't wnat to start something new at that level and at the moment don't wnat to do religion again.

What are you doing next and was the TMA result good?

TMA result was very good - 85%! I have worked really hard on them and apart from 68% on the first one have got around 80% every time which I think means that it is not a superhard course as long as you put the work in.
I'm not sure what to do next - I wanted to do the Enlightenment to Romanticism one that starts in Sept but then I panicked over overlapping it with the all-important exam and I think I might opt for the Classical World course even though it is another big overview course as I am really interested in ancient history too.
