Hi ladies,

I have a 5 week old daughter and I've found out I have breast cancer. She is ebf and I need to get her into formula. I'm so heartbroken having to do this but I have no choice. I tried her with a bottle and she had about an ounce and then refused. I tried expressing and mixed it with formula but she really doesn't want it. I think she still wants the comfort from me.
Any advice as to how to switch ?
Thank you x

My dd would only take the brown teats not the clear ones, and only fast flow... was a while back so don't know if they are still sold. My thoughts are with you, very hard

Try cup-feeding too. We did this in hospital when DD was born and couldn't latch. It's a bit messy but she happily took it. There are guides online on how to cup feed newborns.

I’m sorry you are having a tough time and wish you all the best with the treatment. I know it sounds odd but when we had to top my little one up we had more success with the Asda basic bottles. They were a pound each and he took to them much easier than other bottles. Good luck.
