When should I put my baby in his own room?

My little boy is 5 months, he sleeps from 8pm til 6am, Iv had him in a next to me crib and Iv never had a problem with him sleeping, he’s never kept me up in the night etc. I would love to put him in his own room in his own cot because he’s getting abit big for his crib, what age is the ideal age to put them in their own room?

SIDS advice is to keep them in with you until 6 months.

Ideally after 6months due to the increased risk of SIDS.
However I did from day 3 with my youngest (and 3 weeks with my eldest).

As I just couldn't sleep with them next to me. I would constantly wake up to every grunt or wriggle.

If you want to move him into his own room, then do what's best for you.
