Friend's kid told mine to F*** off and friend just laughed!!!!

Went out with my friend a while back, and while her kid was trying to spit at mine she was busy chatting to a complete stranger on the bus. In the end I've had to discipline her child.

The other day we went out again and had a great day. Just before we went home her child told mine to F* off and my friend just laughed!!! She didn't tell her kid off or anything!!! The worse thing is, her child has been swearing since she was only about 2 years old and is now only 2 and 2 months.

To be honest, I was so gobsmacked at this, it didn't quite register until I got home and told dh and I didn't say anything at the time. Everyone I've spoken to since was equally shocked at her behaviour. I now feel so angry at the fact that I should have said something at the time. Should I have it out with her or just phase her out of my life?

Plus your lo doesn't need a friend who will teach her to spit or swear.

Your friend is showing very little respect by letting her child behave like this towards you and your child. So not a very good friend anyway!

phase her out if you think she actually doesn't mind her dd's behaviour. But if you think she does mind and she is having trouble working out how to deal with it (e.g. maybe that was nervous laughter after the swearing?), then consider talking with her perhaps.

Superloopy, that's exactly how I felt. That she showed a complete lack of resepct.

It wasn't nervous laughter. Unfortunately, the girl in question is anything but shy. Think I'll talk to her about it and then phase it out.

Yes, you're all right WTF is she going to be like in a few years time. The kid is completely out of control and all the mum can say is, "but she's gorgeous" (which she certainly IS NOT!!!)

I suppose I held onto the "friendship" because I don't really know any other mums around locally, but I don't need this cr*p either.
