Dc1 labour was 9 hours start to finish, I was 30.

DC2 labour was 6 hours start to finish, I was 36.

mindutopia · 13/08/2019 22:58

1st was at 32 and labour was 11 hours

2nd at 37 and 9 hours

I don’t think there’s any relation between the two, but both of them were born at which I think helped a lot, especially with the 2nd as I knew what to expect and it was very calm.

Itswinternow · 13/08/2019 23:18

Dc1 at 25. 46 hours start to finish. 😫

Trying for number 2 now at 27. 😁😁

DS at 25. Planned CS, no labour. He was out in 16 minutes, I was glued up and back in my room in 35 minutes. Blink and you'd miss it.

Now 37, twins due at Christmas. Bricking myself as they're "to be expected" from 28 weeks and often have rapid labours of under 1hr. CS planned at 36 weeks. Visions of both appearing vaginally in the back of the car Confused

ParkheadParadise · 13/08/2019 23:24

Dd1@ 15 Labour was 19 hrs

Dd2@ 38 Labour was 40 mins.

Mintjulia · 13/08/2019 23:25

Ds took 38 hours from when my contractions couldn’t be ignored, to forceps delivery. He came out pink & yowling, eventually Smile

Well done itswinternow

DD2: 11 hours from start to finish. I was 28.

BobTheFishermansWife · 14/08/2019 03:06

DS1 - 28
Hospital notes: 25 minutes, 3 minutes between waters breaking and him arriving. Happened so fast there wasn't time to look at my birth plan or deal with pain relief.

Reality, contractions started just over 58 and a half hours before hospital presentation with 3 calls to the mat unit for advice. Apparently I have a very high pain threshold, or things just changed very fast at about 7am (still 2 hours before I got the the hospital, but contractions got more painful, still not quite 2 every 10 minutes which is why they put me off going in to start with)

RonaldMcDonald · 14/08/2019 03:15

35 - labour was 46 hrs then Em C/s
36.5 - elective c/s
38 - elective c/s took forever 4 + hrs due to adhesions. Felt terrible afterward.

Mummaofmytribe · 14/08/2019 03:43

First, age 18, 36 hours, horrific hospital birth. Stitched up to the eyeballs.
2nd age 19, 9 hours, homebirth.
3rd age 22, hospital 2 hours 43 minutes exactly :) and she was the biggest by far, and only time I went overdue.
4th age 25, homebirth, 3 and a half hours.
5th, age 27, homebirth, just over 3 hours, delivered him myself as midwives didn't arrive until he was all out bar one of his feet!
(Totally unplanned to be alone but it was the most empowering moment of my life.)

Isadora2007 · 14/08/2019 03:45

All worked out well in the end:)

00deed1988 · 14/08/2019 05:12

25 years old - Induced
Less than 2 hours....sounds great but in actual fact was horrid.

Dreading if I have number 2. Will be opting for a home birth!
