Suggest a Nappy

I use cloth full time and DS is only in disposibles when me and DH are at work. MIL claims she can't grip nappies (fluffle nippa) .

I hate disposibles, and now I can't stand the chemical smell and the gel beads...arghh. I've become snobby about what gets near ds' bum!

What nappy would you all suggest? Just to give it another go? I need a easy practical nappy.

Mozzy saunters off to find Baileys and Ice as everyone on MN appears to be merry

I only used them a couple of times on DD - they could well have improved since then

FlameFlamingo · 03/08/2007 22:40

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Baileys

they are from great IYSWIM but they could be a compromise???

Would she be prepared to put on a velcro closing nappy and then a seperate wrap - if so there are loads of good stuff you can get?

mozzybear · 03/08/2007 22:46

I do feel that the whole hands thing is a cover up for not wanting to deal with wet/dirty nappies or that she doesn't like the JLO look although DS always arrive with one on.

Although I'm not keen on the idea of velcro, I feel it would be the easiest option for her. Do you need anything other than the nappy + insert btw?

I'm thinking reliable is a big thing here - if they leak then she will go back to "disposables don't do that" (regardless of if they do...)

nappyzone · 03/08/2007 22:52

Flame - couldnt see any velcro swadders left on wholesale unless u can get through your agency thing, i have one small yellow one left which is a shame as they sold well in the end! (its the solitary sad random sale item). Nothing else needed with bumg.

mozzybear · 03/08/2007 22:56

Yeah, would need them to be as easy as a sposie. Do like the look of the bum genuis. they look quite simple. She changes his nappy about every 4 hours and when dirty at the moment. Fluffle Bambineo of Quick Flip do that easy. Bought my QF from you Flame and though its a bit fiddly, its amazingly absorbant and the guy who designed them lives in the same locality as my parents!

I think there are still some left on Babykind that I can get

FlameFlamingo · 03/08/2007 23:01

QF's are looovely, but a bit bulky at times

mozzybear · 03/08/2007 23:06

Not as bulky as a fluffle though!

Must go to bed, have to work tomorrow

Thanks for your advice and company (DH playing strangley homo-erotic wrestling video game, so not very chatty)

Speak to you all later

Mozzy stumbles to bed realising that she is a lightweight on the Baileys front

Ah yes, good point! Teddies are much slimmer than fluffles

Intrigued what the game was now...

mozzybear · 04/08/2007 10:23

Fl***s are now a swear word in my house as they keep breaking and tots aren't being very helpful

Might keep remaining Fl***s and sell the once washed one and the new replacement one when ever it arrives, if tots don't send me my old one back saying "its fiiiiiinnneee"

Then might buy Bumgenius. May have to ebay stuff to raise funds for a teddy (or two!)

Flame, Vid Game was Smackdown v Raw on PS2. DH has long lived love of wrestling and keeps telling me the storylines, surely he should know the look of a woman who doesn't care by now .

DH and his best mate are hoping DS like wrestling when he's older.. I hope he has some sense

Delightful Titles like that make me pleased DH likes his goblins and wizards

maisiemog · 04/08/2007 13:52

Mozzybear, I'm sorry you are having a bad time with your fluffles.
I was wondering if you wanted to leave a quick review for them on my cloth nappy review blog - it might help other people who are deciding what nappy to buy and not to buy.
Thank you!!

mozzybear · 05/08/2007 20:52

Shall do Maisymog.

Flame, I imagine I could have it soooo much worse! He could be a dj, that would do my head in!

Has MIL forgotten the ancient art of pinning a terry nappy with a nappy pin?

mozzybear · 09/08/2007 09:39

MIL does have stiff joints so I guess I can see where she is coming from. Velcro would be better for her but I prefer nippas myself.

Fuzzi bunz! They are fab. They are pocket nappies so you can pre-stuff them then just have a pile of nappies to use through the day that go on as easy as disposables. They are slim fitting, dry really quickly and come in loads of fab colours.

wE LOVE 'EM!
