We moved into new house at end of last year, dd only just discovered friend who lives round corner few months ago. DD is 5, other girl is 7 but they get on. Up until a month ago they were playing every other weekend - going round to each other’s houses. But in the past month my dh and I have messaged both girls’ parents on 4 separate occasions and have had no reply.
DH even met them in corner shop and said the atmosphere was frosty but he didn’t want to make a scene. My dd asks after her friend constantly and keeps asking why she can’t come over. I’m not sure what to say her. I have no idea what happened. Discovered my dd had headlice after their last play date (either child could’ve passed on) but surely that’s not a reason to cut all contact? I don’t understand how grown adults can act like that and upset young children. What should I do? Ignore and tell dd she won’t be seeing friend again, send one last message asking what their problem is???
