How do you go down to one nap if you have an early waker?

Hi everyone, struggling with my 18 m/o dd's sleep. She is up for the day at 5 - sometimes earlier zzz - and still takes two naps because she just can't make it until midday. I feel like it's a catch 22 now - would one nap in the middle of the day might help her to sleep in on a morning? Anyone been through this? Thanks!

I had this, and I'm not going to lie, it was tough for a while as it is a big transition.

I had to just commit to do it, and I also tried to combat overtiredness with a few days of early bed times, even if it meant 5:30pm bed! Conversely that meant he slept in longer in the morning! These days he's up 6/6:30am, lunch at 11 and nap at 11:30 - the early lunch and nap was key key key to success of one nap, and meant we finally got to a 2hr+ nap! Then 6/6:30 bedtime.

Hope that helps!

Really helpful, thanks @HoneyWheeler. Think we'll have to bite the bullet and try it.

We have a nap at 11/11.30 - 1pm then have lunch as soon as he wakes up. Bed at 7pm.

My daughter was waking at 5am so we went down from 2 naps to 1 and it worked for us. Up at 6.30/7am, nap from 12-2, then bed by 7pm. My daughter however refuses to eat lunch before her nap so has a mid morning snack and then lunch at 2pm when she wakes up.

I did a mini morning nap, going to 15 mins before dropping altogether.
