Evening, I’m struggling to up my breastmilk supply after introducing formula. We started to combifeed at 6 weeks old after a bout of mastitis and exhaustion but now my 10 week old daughter seems to only want formula.
I’ll nurse her and she’ll fall asleep or just suckle rather than feed so I remove her from my breast. A short while later she’ll be hungry so I try to latch her but she’ll moan and work herself up. I’ll eventually cave and give her a bottle which I know is probably the wrong thing to do.
I previously caught the letdown with a Hakaa pump and would get 20-30ml per breast and now only get 5ml from my right, her preferred boob and not even that from the left.
I’ve tried expressing with the electric pump, feeding on demand and changing my diet but she just seems to use me as a dummy and comfort rather than for food.
Any advice on how to up my supply without distressing her?
