Me and my DP are usually so knackered from work, we play with our 21 month DS until his bed time, put him to bed, then we eat, chat go on our phones , then just sleep ( sometimes do the deed)

I really want to make the effort to do something more exciting perhaps on a Friday night with him ( we cant leave our home due to childcare) so any ideas what we can do on a Friday evening together?

games/food/drink/quiz?

THROW YOUR IDEAS AT ME PEOPLE!!!

thank you x

Have a “date night” at home? You dress up and have a posh takeaway, but served on nice plates and with lovely wine. Have dessert too, it keeps you at the table longer and talking to each other.

Could agree in advance a film to watch?

If you’re looking at a way to do something in the bedroom, DH and I enjoy a game called Monogamy.... bet you can get it on amazon.

Or you could just wait it out. Your DS will be old enough for an inexpensive baby sitter in a year (and it goes faster than you’d think!)

The most exciting it gets around here is a takeaway and a new box set on a Friday night with some wine.
Sometimes we read books. I want to start a board game night and maybe a rule about no phones, so we have to talk to each other.
(Some nights we stay up late arguing about my mother in law so the nights that doesn't happen feel like a win to me!)
You could cook a fancy meal - or he could? Do a home workout together?! It's tough to be creative when you're knackered and house bound.

Not a lot. Home for 6, eat together at half 6/6:45 (DS has a 'supper' We have our meal) Ds bedtime 7:30 alseep by 8, the other tidies up. 30 min work out and shower. Watch TV Together (an episode of something) 9-10. Lights out for 10pm. Weekends we will watch a film and get takeaway after DS bedtime, maybe have a bottle of wine. Or otherwise one of us is out with friends.

We don’t. Youngest 2 asleep by 9 then eldest goes up about 10ish and I go with him.

We listen to music and chat whilst drinking wine or sometimes cook a nice meal together then watch a film. Very rare though these days due to toddler. Most of our nights are spent the same as yours 😁

We used to get the Wii out and play the Wii party games that was good fun.

We have a few strategy board games we sometimes play on a Saturday night. Weeknights our 6 year old now doesn't go to bed until about 7.30-8 so I tend to watch tv or read and DP will play on the computer. We have a PS4 we sometimes play a quiz show on or watch Netflix together. The board games are good although we don't always play them they make a nice change.
