Ideas for what to get my 1yo ds for his birthday?

Hi, I would love some ideas on what to get my soon to be 1 year old DS for his birthday.
He's almost walking, we have very limited space as live in a flat, and we also have a 2 year old DD so he already has a lot of hand me downs!

I'm thinking a scuttle bug type thing, but dd already has a girly colour one (which she never used!) but ds is much more active than dd was at the same age.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Don't get sucked into gift giving...
Buy him an outfit and some books then save the cash till he actually needs something.

Dd got way too many gifts from family and friends so I put some money in her savings and bought myself a very nice bottle of wine for surviving the first year. I recommend it to everyone.

A few small token gifts he can unwrap (or your daughter help him) - Small new bath toys, New pjs, a few new bedtime story books.

If you want to spend more, maybe get a family annual pass somewhere local that both children can benefit from and where they can run and play. Playcentre, farm, national trust, zoo

I've got my dd a bubble machine for her 1st birthday next week, they have one at a playgroup she goes to and she goes nuts for it. Only a fiver in asda and I think a pound for extra liquid if you want to give something small
