about 8-9 yrs old fgs!!
The salesperson and I were gobsmacked, they were chatting to each other about how big they were.I was so shocked and saddened, they really were stick thin, not an ounce of fat on them.

I have a 15 yr old dd who is a perfectly healthy weight size 8-10 although she has the propensity to put weight on easily.I have never told her she is eating too much or should be careful about her weight.I am too scared of making her paranoid about what she eats like some of her friends.

Do you talk to your dd about weight issues

my nanny (otherwise v.nice) when ds2 was 6 wks old:

'you look so skinny on those photos downstairs- your face was so thin'

yes, I have just had a baby actually. Thanks for that.

A week later: 'your tummy's gone down hasn't it'

oh THANKS for noticing.

Women are just so vile to eachother sometimes. Scrutinising constantly.

weird thing is, others can be as big or small as they want to be....it makes no blind bit of difference, and unlesss their is a real noticable change I would not notice anyway...hm.......

Fio, how insensitive of that aunt...sometimes people really should think before they speak...

My problems all started with my sisters little comments

whywhywhy · 25/07/2007 12:15

malfoy I'm like you, don't notice. Even if I did would never comment on it unless directly asked 'do you think I have put on weight?'

(When my friends do ask me if they 'look fat' I always say no anyway- can't see how it would help anyone to say yes!)

whywhywhy · 25/07/2007 12:17

yes I had the sister comments too!

'get your big bum out of my way' etc!

She is stick thin like my dad. Gran (dad's mum) would always say to me and my mum, 'you're not built like OUR side of the family....' urrrrgh!!

Malfoynomore · 25/07/2007 12:31

at the time my sister wasn't actually that small herself....she is now a twig, lol....but I was 5ft5 or something like that ( I was 16 at the time, am now between 5'6 and 5'7) and I was roughly 8st12 and my sister told me that I am getting rather fat...and I never looked into the mirror the same way

brimfull · 25/07/2007 19:56

as far as i can make out if a teenage girl is anything above a size 12 she's seen as fat fgs! Very sad.

I think I will stick to the promoting a healthy diet, everything in mederation and encouraging sports and exercise.

{shock] And I always used towish I had a sister....

3andnomore · 26/07/2007 13:36

I don't think all sisters are like that, tbh...just my luck, lol!
She is a funny old soul anyway...we had a fall out at x-mas 2000, where we both said things that weren't nice....now, to me, afterwards it would have been done and dusted....my sister has not spoken to me since...I tried, but nothing...what annoys me is, that she is my es Godmother, and will not have anything to do with him, neither...and I think that is just being a complete bitch, tbh...but hohum...
