Pop songs for toddlers - what do your kids love?

After my nearly two year old got her groove on to Uptown Funk in the car this morning, I was hoping people wouldn’t mind recommending pop songs their young toddlers love. I can’t take any more car journeys to the soundtrack of nursery rhymes!!

Thank you!!

My son loved that song as well at that age! I have a video of him singing and dancing the entire song. He's 4 now and loves anything by George Ezra. He also likes some Katy Perry songs (Roar, Firework)

My boys love Sia and Meghan Trainor. and old Lady Gaga 🤷‍♀️

Justin Timberlake’s Can’t Stop the Feeling is a toddler hit

resipsa · 14/06/2019 18:59

My 3 year old likes Maroon 5, Bradley Cooper's turns in A Star (neither influenced by my watching of videos on You Tube), L Capaldi, Ed S, Justin B - pretty standard fare!

Hairwizard · 14/06/2019 21:35

Cant stop the feeling
Uptown funk
Shotgun
Taylor swift songs were all big hits with my ds.
Loves belinda carlisle songs too, and blondie!

Shotgun
And the Bruno Mars song Today I'm not doing anything

BubblesBuddy · 14/06/2019 21:42

ABBA. The compilation one. The Red CD of The Beatles. We followed up with Bat out of Hell! Simon and Garfunkel, Early Beach Boys stuff, Fleetwood Mac, and we had a great Girl Groups of the 60s CD - Little Eva, Carole King etc. Motown too. DD still sings - now in her 20s. She knew 8 carols at age 2. I simply couldn’t bear Wheels on the Bus any longer.

You Can Count on Me
Million Dreams (Greatest Showman)
Bohemian Rhapsody

Biancadelrioisback · 14/06/2019 21:49

Yikes, mine isn't bothered by music at all! Never dances or anything. He likes silly songs like speedy gonzales, oh I do like to be beside the seaside etc but deffo not pop music.
Maybe I should make a list of your suggestions

graziemille567 · 14/06/2019 21:50

My DS loves a bit of Justin Bieber. He's mad about 'hey ho, lets go' (can't remember the name of the song, but by The Ramones) too and got into the Beatles 'Love Me Do' recently. Shotgun is popular too, and now he always asks me to turn the radio up if a hip hop song comes on the radio. GrinSo he has quite varied taste!

Hellbentwellwent · 14/06/2019 21:51

You spin me right round baby right round
Katy Perry roar
Pharrell williams happy
Sultans of ping where’s me jumper!
Meghan Trainor better when I’m dancing

WhatsInAName19 · 14/06/2019 21:52

Her favourite is the Clash 😂 But she also loves Beiber, Calvin Harris and Taylor Swift. And that song by Mabel that's out at the moment.

Orangedaisy · 14/06/2019 21:53

Cotton eye joe
5,6,7,8 by steps
Grease lightening (just don’t listen to the lyrics)
Trolls soundtrack

PastaSauceHoarder · 14/06/2019 21:56

My 2 year old DD goes crazy for 'Shake it Off' by Taylor Swift, though she now prefers the version sang by the pigs off the film Sing. Smile

As well as that her current favourite to sing along to is 'How Far I'll Go' from Moana.

Emmabryant123 · 14/06/2019 21:58

Solo by clean bandit

EssentialHummus · 14/06/2019 22:03

ABBA. She's now 21 months old, since 16 months she has picked up my or DH's phone and shouted "Abba!" for music and (no idea how) will say "No, Abba!" if you try play her something else. I've no idea how this started and I've never listened to so much ABBA in my life.

honeybeehoneybee · 14/06/2019 22:11

Ha yes shotgun! What is it about this bloody song!

For some reason my kids love "all star" by smash mouth, it's on the shrek soundtrack.

confusedat30 · 14/06/2019 22:15

Please please check out kidz bop! My kids (8,5 and 2) love it. It's all the songs in the charts sang by kids with appropriate music videos and slight changes of words so ok for them to sing along. It's constantly on here, kids dance and sing along xx

We have the car digital radio tuned in to Fun Kids. They love it. There is a kids band who do covers that have asapted lyrics to ensure suitability. Kidz bop kids.
