What should baby wear to sleep tonight? 24 degrees.

I only have a 2.5 tog sleeping bag and our bedroom is 24 degrees this bank holiday “heatwave” during the night.

For now I’ve put her in a sleepsuit with nothing underneath and am going to use a cellular blanket. She’ll be up in a few hours and so I could change her if I think this isn’t enough.

What do you guys suggest? She usually sleeps in a long sleeve bodysuit and the bag but our room is not usually this warm.

I think what you've got her in will be fine!

I was just wondering if someone else was struggling with this! Its 23 in DS9months room and he was in long sleeved PJ top and a 1 tog bag but when I just went up he felt bit sticky so ive taken the bag off and hes in the top and shorts, didn't wake. I normally change him at about 10pm as he will soak through nappy otherwise and will pop him back in 1 tog if needed. I always go for slightly cooler as he will wake if cold

What you’ve dressed her in seems sensible to me. If in doubt always better to err on the side of a little bit too chilly than risk overheating. Tomorrow go and buy some lighter weight sleeping bags, they’ll be useful for summer even if the heatwave ends soon!

This was what I used for the first two summers... found it so helpful!

I am def going to go out and buy some lighter sleep bags tomorrow as @expressedways said, they’ll def come in use for the summer.

You need the Aden and Anais muslin sleeping bags 😊

ellesbellesxxx · 21/04/2019 18:22

@MDMDMD no I attached a photo! I can see it on my screen :(

BillywilliamV · 21/04/2019 18:23

It’s not going to be 24degrees all night, I’m in the Midlands and the temperature is forecasted to drop to 6 degrees.

MDMDMD · 22/04/2019 03:27

Thanks all

@billywilliamv it’s currently 3:30 am and my thermostat says it’s 23.5 degrees. Was 25 when I put her down. Some people have got a warm room all night.

That’s a shame! Can’t see it @ellesbellesxxx

These charts are so useful - thanks all for sharing! And MDMDMD, I feel your pain. Our GroEgg looked particularly annoyed about the high temperatures last night. I just left babe in a sleepsuit, like you. The warm weather may be nice during the day, but not so much at night!
