When did you go on maternity with your 2nd? (If your first is a toddler)

After a lot of dithering I've decided to finish up at nearly 33 weeks. I was only doing 2 days now (usually do 3). DS is nearly 2 and I have terrible SPD pain, nausea (hyperemesis throughout) and GD.

Whatever works for you. I had a 3 year old and finished at almost 38 weeks due to work being less hard work than being at home with the 3 year old!

Also, you poor thing! Sounds like you've had a rough ride. Flowers

Thanks. Ds will still go to nursery on the days I'm usually at work so that'll help

I finished at 37wks, had a 3yo at home 2days but ended up being induced at 39wks so barely had two weeks between finishing work & new baby! Only work 3 days.

I should've said first ds was born 37+3 so if it's the same time I'll only have 4 weeks at home which seems fine. If it goes beyond that I'll probably get bored and regret finishing early though!

My DS was 2 1/2 when DD was born and I was working freelance from home. I didn't officially take any maternity leave and think I was still doing some work (but taking less on) the day I went into labour at almost 42 weeks. My DP was around helping with DS quite a bit though as he was also self-employed and working odd hours.

Do what's best for you OP.

Planning to work as long as I can but fork out for an extra day's childcare so I have a day at home on my own each week and DD gets used to a bit less 1-2-1 time with me. Sad

I'm planning on staying at work till the bitter end but see how that goes never know lol :) I want more time off after baby is born maybe 3 months spent at home before returning. Got to do what's best for you, you've got a toddler, my daughter is 5 and settled in school so a lot easier to get chill out time so you've done what's best for you ❤️
