SHE DID I have been sitting up with DD since she was born, sometimes up to two hours of a night. Today i was late for work (crap morning) and i had to leave her in her cot whilst my mum childmined, i usually make sure she is asleep. I phoned, expecting DD to be up and irritable - she was asleep, after talking to herself for a bit and then nodding off. Do you think this means i can have my evenings back???? oh pleeease

aw, well done little Lucy...my dd is sleeping in her new big girls bed tonight(single as shes been sleeping in large cot bed but is now too tall), shes teling me its not very comfy!..it was the most expensive mattress in shop and is bigger than normal single..,maybe its the 'bigness' that she cant handle as her old one was so snug

night three - we were out all day and DD missed her sleep. She was such a good good girl, i had to get clothes and shoes (didnt get the shoes ) and we ended up being out all day. She went to bed early and was a bit overtired tbh - she is cottoning on to the fact that im not laying with her and cried when i left the room tonight and was pointing to the bed (she cant talk yet, poor bairn). I told her she had her bunnies and doggies for company, she did cry a little but i think was so tired that she went straight to sleep. I cant tell you how nice it is to have my evenings back, although i suspect DP would rather i wasnt on MN

peterduck - its going well TBH, better than i thought. DD is begining to get a bit stressy as we go through the bedtime routine cos she knows im going to leave her and she is asking "ha ha " which means hand hand. I used to have to lay half hanging off our bed holding her hand in the cot for up to two hours - NOT very conducive to romantic evenings i have to say. Not that ive noticed any changes in the level of romance in my life as yet .

Let me know how you get on and i wish you good evenings too

I think DD has been ready for a while, all the time i hold her hand and then she gets defiant about that and wont let me hold it, then she wants it held, then when she is about to fall asleep, rolls over. It came about by accident but i think when they are ready it shows itself somehow. Of course i could be back up there this time next week, whos to say, she is getting more and more upset when i leave but it doesnt last long before the woof woofs and gurgling starts (she has toy dogs!).

Best of luck to you to
