And how did it go? Is there a good/bad time/age? Dd is 11 months and still in with us.

I moved DD at 7 months, we had a couple of bad nights, but otherwise she's taken to it really well.

My DS has recently moved into his own room at 3 months as he had outgrown his moses basket, the cot doesnt fit in our room and I couldnt justify the cost of a next to me or similar.

We do have a single bed in his room so one of us (mainly me) is sleeping in with him in his room and probably will do until around 6 months

Baby went into her own room at 3 months. No issues at all, she was getting disturbed at night from us making noise and she loves her room to be dark and silent

5 months. Everyone’s sleep improved.

ElyElyOy · 29/12/2018 21:40

About 14 months: no issues whatsoever, just put his cot in his own room one night and he took to the room fine. He doesn’t sleep well, but it wasn’t anything to do with his room, just that he will always be a bad sleeper I think!

PennyMordauntsLadyBrain · 29/12/2018 21:42

6 months.

A few rough nights while things got settled, but overall everyone's sleep improved pretty much straight away

Beamur · 29/12/2018 21:42

14months. First time she slept through! Wish we'd done it sooner.

StillIRise87 · 29/12/2018 21:42

10 months and after three nights was sleeping through! A lifesaver as was having cot parties before we moved him.

Fluffiest · 29/12/2018 21:45

6 months for DD. She was a terrible sleeper before the change and a terrible sleeper afterwards. So no noticeable change for us. Ha ha! She eventually improved at one, thank the good Lord!

We’ve still got our 2.5 year old and our 6 month old in with us. They have their own room but it’s the only way any of us get any sleep. 2.5 year old in bed with us and 6 month old in a full sized cot next to the bed.

We're on night 3 for DS (6 months) have woken a few times eaxh night to replace dummy but he's gone straight back to sleep so far.

Since birth we've done his bath routine starting in his room then getting him dressed again in his room so it wasn't an unusual place for him. Over the last few nights we've been having some time playing with non electronic toys in his room before bed too.

We started on a whim as I knew if i didn't start when the idea struck me he'll be in with me forever (we did have a little morning cosleep yesterday though)

Daughter went into own room at 4 months, son at 6 weeks

Thanks everyone. Were your dc still feeding at night or not by then? That's the only reason we've waited really.

She was still having 1 feed a night when she went into her own room. We put a comfy chair in her room where we feed her before bed anyway so just sat in there to feed her

myotherbagisgucci · 30/12/2018 17:37

My DD occasionally had one feed during the night (maybe 2/3 a week) when we moved her, at 7 months, but by 8 months she dropped that feed all together.
