7 month old gone to sleep for night at 4.30 - wwyd??

My 7 month old ds' sleep routine is all over the place. Some days he will be amazing, have his 3 naps then sleep for 11 hours. Other days, like today, he will have 2 naps an drink a shit load of milk (more than his usual daily quota) and be out for the count by 430. Meaning he will either be up in the night for more milk (which is when i worry he will explode) or wake up ready for the day at 3-4am.

I'm obviously doing something wrong as my first was never like this he slept 12 hours a night from 3 months and kept to a consistent routine during the day. But I kind of feel he did that himself it was nothing I did so I'm just letting this one lead the way too but hes just not finding his rhythm.

Anyone got any advice please I go back to work in a couple of weeks and worried that's go in to mess him up further as he will have a mixture of me, nursery and my mum trying to sort him out!

I forgot to add the wwyd - would you wake him and put him to bed later and just give him more milk (hes fed to sleep). Thank you!

I would wake just now. Feed. Short play. Bath. Try and put back down within an hour my DD feeds to sleep a lot and I am trying to stop this by making sure she is not over tired for bedtime and use patting and white noise. Food luck.

It's a while since I had a baby, but I would have only let him have a short nap at 4.30, woken him, carried on as normal with teatime, play, bedtime at normal time, whenever that is for you.

Can't you wake him?

I’d wake him now, bath him then try again.

My daughter at the age went to bed at 430, woke at 3 for a bottle/sing for half hour then went back to sleep till 6. You could play it by ear but if like you say you're in for an early wake up call, then I'd get him up. I only left it because if I kept her up any later she'd wake even earlier! Never got it.

Depending how much sleep mine had had in the day, I'd wake after between 15 mins and 30 mins. Normally just being loud around her or chatting to get softly.
