Hi I have a 13 year old step daughter and I’ve been living with her dad for the last 5 years. He also has an 8 year old daughter and I have I 20 year old daughter who no longer lives with us.
I have struggled from day one with his older daughter who was 8 when we got together. I seem to lack patience and tolerance with her in general. She is not a bad child but I find her annoying and very frustrating almost every time she comes round which is about 40% of the week/end. It causes friction during those times and also between me and my partner. I can’t seem to find a way to get on with her as I feel there is very little coming back, but as the adult I feel it is Whiley my fault. Can anyone offer advise how to find a way to break through this for all our sakes?! Thanks
