Recommended foods for 20 month old recovering from stomach bug?

Hi all

My 20 month old has had a bug/virus/gastroenteritis since last Sunday night. We’ve stopped giving him milk as by Friday it seemed that was causing him to throw up again. He’s been fine with solid foods really since then but has obviously been off full meals in general. He’s still VERY keen to continue eating and drinking throughout the day.

Is there any foods people could recommend to keep him on as he’s refusing certain things. I thought we’d get some puréed Ella’s kitchen meals but that seems to have caused him to immediately throw up again (think they may be a bit rich?)

Was thinking maybe baby rice or something might be good for him?

I would focus on simple bland things to start like toast, pasta, fruit, crackers, maybe some yogurt. Easy simple foods that aren’t like a curry. I’ve never really restricted foods when mine had a tummy bug, but I did find she liked these sorts of things best (also most generally aren’t too acidic if they do end up coming up again).

Normal rice, bananas, porridge (made with oats and water, bread.

Definitely wouldn’t give purées!

Bizarrely if you cook rice and give them the scum off the top it wools wonders. As does stewed apple (the pectin binds the poo)

Bland starchy foods would be good e.g. rice, potato, toast, pasta.
