When to take newborn insert out of car seat?

Just that really! My son is 12 weeks old and we have the cosatto giggle 2 travel system and it seems like I'm shoe horning him into the car seat every time! He isn't a small baby and has good head control. Has anyone got any advice on this, WWYD?

It should tell you either on the seat or in the manual - you'll be able to get it online

Don't have that seat but with maxi-cost seat there is a cushion in the bottom of the insert that you remove first to get some more space. Took me ages to find it.

It just seems that there's only one insert here. I don't know how much he weighs now but he was 12lb 9 at 7 weeks. Pretty sure he won't suffer with it out? It'll give him more room, he cries when I put him in and I thinks it's because he's squashed haha

Yes definitely take it out I don't think they need it over 10lb. I have the same carseat and DD was slot happier with it out

Thanks @Greywillow12. I've just taken it out so will try him in it later. It doesn't seem very padded without it but there's loads more room for him!
