How did you tell the kids you were breaking up?

My relationship with DP is over. He is the father of 6 yo DD. He had an affair. I found out 2 months ago. He wasn’t keen to leave, but is starting to look for somewhere to live.

I haven’t told DD anything yet as I wanted there to be a plan before we told her anything. If and when stbx gets his shit together and moves out, what is the best way to tell DD her parents are separating?
