yesterday worked at the university didn't take anything to save assignment work on so emailed it to myself so as that i could access it from home.
Opened up the attachment once home and began work. Assignment is duein monday i was stressing so stayed up over night to get as much done as I could in hope to finish it today. Whilst working on it I was saving it. I was shattered this morning so lazily just emailed myself it rather than getting up and looking for usd disk. Got to uni to find it was the original attachment. Came home and there is no sign of it on pc. I was saving it please can you tell were it has gone?

No I use yahoo mail. I save things on my mem stik and then normally email work in between that account and the uni mail box.

Have you checked the attachment in the original email (the one you sent from uni - home)?

Have you tried searching your C drive for an uncommon part of the file name? WHat did you get?

Katy44 · 08/06/2007 14:50

To find out what type of file it is, just right click, and it should tell you, that was what I meant by the extension, sorry it's all a bit muddled.

Upsadaisyvvvtired · 08/06/2007 14:59

I've found it!!!!!!!
thank you guys so much not sure how, did the run thing but browsed and went through until found all these files with muddled up letters ( they are full of everything off the internet adverts alsorts) I eventually came across the file name, opened it and now have it.
I wouldn't have found it without you all. You are all officialy my favourite mumsnetters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I still have work to do but only 1500 words or so.

Upsadaisyvvvtired · 08/06/2007 15:00

Are all those internet adverts supppose to be there?

morningpaper · 08/06/2007 15:09

Yes - it's where internet explorer puts all the files when you are browsing the internet

FLIER · 08/06/2007 15:10

so glad you got it. I think all those internet adverts are cookies.

Katy44 · 08/06/2007 15:10

Oh fantastic, I'm so relieved, you know even if you redid all the work it wouldn't be as good
Good luck finishing it off
