At what age did you allow an Xbox?

DS turning 10 this week and me and DH not agreeing on this.

I want to delay the gaming stage as it's a guaranteed slipppy slope into him being locked in his bedroom being obsessed with yet another device. DH thinks it's ok with time limitation etc

However DS desperate, all this mates have one, all he wants...

I bought myself a Wii before ds1 was born, which was played very rarely, and when he was about 3 or 4 we let him play Mario kart etc. Then his wee bro would play along with a broken remote or whatever. Then they got skylanders for Christmas.

They must have been 6 and 4 when we got the xbox. They play fifa mostly now (9 and 7 and are playing atm). Minecraft is actually banned in our house because they can't play it without fighting. All age appropriate games here. They choose when to play. Bigger addiction is bloody YouTube, but they read and play football, and the youngest loves making a mess creating things too, so i don't mind.

DS14 never has had one

He's fine. "All" his friends have one (just like they "all" have Samsung S8s and Iphone super plus whatever) - he just plays round his friends every so often, or at youth group.

There really isn't any need for him to have a console.

But the mian reason he won't be having one whilst he lives here?

He's a complete and utter arsey grouch when he's on his phone for too long and is asked to come off it, so we don't need another grump inducing, argument causing, rage inducing device in the house!
