I frequently use these with my children.

You get what you get and you don't get upset - used ALL the time
You're not made of sugar - When we are walking home and it rains
Look or let it go - When they can't find something, often too often

Do you have any little phrases that you have heard or that you use that I could incorporate into my daily life?

Don’t be a dingbat.

You're not made of sugar is so annoying. My grandmother used to say it and I hated it. How about saying the truth, ie, getting drenched in the rain sucks?
Sorry, but I can't stand clever one liners grown ups think are edifying.
