How do you know if you've got PND or are just bone crushingly sleep deprived?

Just that really. DC2 is 4 weeks old. Very difficult pregnancy with hyperemesis so I know I'm higher risk for PND, but I honestly think if I could just get more than a 2 hour stretch of sleep in one go then I'd feel a lot better.

DC is EBF and at first used to give me a 4 hour stretch in the night which was wonderful. Now they barely sleep during the day and wake every 2 hours in the night.

I just want to sob most of the time, feel like a zombie. I can get up and out and go through the daily motions but I'm pretty much dead behind the eyes.

DH is very supportive, especially during the night, but we're both exhausted and arguing a lot more which isn't helping. We're good at taking it through tho which helps.

DC1 keeps asking me why I look so sad Sad

Sounds like sleep deprivation to me. It is awful, mine went through a phase of feeding every 1 1/2 hours at night and I just couldn't function, would burst into tears randomly in the day because I was just so tired. I came to the conclusion that if I got 3 hours solid I could function any less and I was basically a wreck.

Thank you - I think you're right. I've had two "as good as can be expected" nights sleep and feel like a semi-functioning human being again.
