Is it appropriate to tell the HV I am extremely low when it is not PND?

Moved to new city a while ago. Have first HV meeting in a few days.
My youngest is a toddler. I am extremely low. I find my life absolutely unbearable and can't see a way out. I won't bother to go into details, but I struggle to get through each day. It is not being a parent I struggle but my other life circumstances, that I feel trapped by. Is it appropriate to mention this to HV or when she says, 'How are you settling in?' or should I just lie and say 'Fine'.

No, why do you think you should lie? She may be able to signpost other services which can help you. Please be honest, parenting is hard even without other lige stuff going on. There's nothing to be ashamed of.

Be honest. It is her job to help.

Maybe you should also see the GP.

Thanks, either me or her got the day wrong and she turned up today.
I spilled everything, she ended up being here for over an hour. She was really nice. It helped just to have someone to talk to. She said that she heard that I feel stuck but encouraged me that I could forge a new life for myself. She said she would come back in a month to see how I was getting on and I could call in the meantime if I liked.
I did go to the GP but she was too busy looking at her computer to listen, didn't ask questions and just told me to go to mum and toddler groups, ffs!. She was bloody useless and I felt really lost and despairing and really angry after seeing her. The HV was much better.

ps, I thought that maybe if it wasn't child related it wasn't appropriate to mention it, but she was really nice anyway.
