Ideas for Naming Day and recommend a celebrant in South Yorks?

We're thinking of having a day and a do for our daughter later this summer but are a bit stuck for ideas. Obviously, we're not religious, hence no christening, but want to avoid the event seeming a bit lost without all the formal traditions.
Has anyone organised their own ceremony or been to any good ones? Would like it to be outdoors if poss - any good venues in South Yorks/Lincs? Or celebrants who did a good job? We're asking a few friends to be god-type parents for dd, and just want a way of welcoming her and formally appointing her important people, then a good party.

I can recommend the humanist society but no specific people. We had a humanist officiant at my dads funeral and she was very respectful of our beliefs and wishes.

doesn't the registry office offer something nowadays?

I had one for dd on her first birthday,i designed a reading and picked a poem ,in the reading i just addresses how special she is and how her name came about etc,a very person bit, then i read my little poem.I then handed dd over to her sponsors(god parent idea) and they read her a little somethign and read out a poem for her.
I held it all at home inviting those close to us to join in.We then all ventured into the garden with a glass of champagne and a helium filled balloon which we all let go in unison while toasting dd.I also had a little pink book which had her start sign and lots of other little pieces of info in i.e what her name meant ,a little verse made out of the letters in her name etc, which was passed round the party during the day for everyone to put in a good wish for her,i have the book safely away in her keepsake box.
After that we just had a party in the hosue for a couple of hours before myself nad her spnsors sat down with her to open her gifts,it was a very simple but very special and person day.
Hope this helps with some ideas
