We have to survive 28 hours of flying in a couple of weeks' time, with 19mo DS. Books are obviously good, but they require complete parental input and don't mix well with eating. So some TV is required.
DS is obsessed with the Gruffalo so we'll probably be watching it, G's Child and Stick Man, and Where the Wild Things Are, on repeat, a lot of the time. Their soundtracks are lovely.
Can anyone suggest anything else that doesn't have any form of pop/rock type music as the backing?
For some reason DS absolutely utterly hates music that isn't acoustic, and will refuse to watch stuff with pop/rock kind of music - eg the Peter Rabbit on CBeebies, or listen to it - eg the Wiggles. This is great for us (we like classical music, jazz, world music) but it makes it pretty hard to find children's TV for him, these days... Peppa Pig has few virtues but unfortunately the lack of crashy music is actually one of them!
