Hey all.

My LO is nearly 7 weeks. In the past week she has developed a habit that is making me and my partner more sleep deprived than when she was born.

She has no set routine time as to when she wakes up for a night time feed. It varies from midnight.

But this is what happens when the feed occurs:

Nappy change
Breastfeed
Hold up for half an hour due to reflux
LO snoring away
Put down into moses basket

It all sounds pretty smooth? If only. Once i put her down she very soon afterwards starts grunting and straining. Her eyes are still closed. But she properly tenses up. Goes all red faced and makes horrendous noises. She honestly sounds like an elephant. Sometimes while straining she throws up too.

I leave her in the moses basket for a bit hoping she will settle in a few minutes, but usually she ends up crying out... not the normal cry though. Her eyes are still shut too.

I pick her up and she's all tense and scrunched up. Pop her on my chest for a cuddle and the noises stop and she's a happy sleeper...

I've googled (dangerous I know) and it sounds like she's got baby grunting syndrome...

Although my partner thinks that the LO is sleeping too much in the day and so when she wakes for a night time feed she's not tired anymore.

Anyone experienced this? Got any life saving tips? I'm soo tired and my partner is now getting so grumpy I'm having to bite my tongue.

So she's happy once sleeping on/with you? Have you considered co-sleeping?

My son had awful reflux so we brought a wedge for his moses basket (from Amazon) which helped a lot. But co-sleeping was a life saver.
