Changing my baby's car seat

I have a 6month old baby girl and was wondering how old your babies were when you changed their car seat from the standard new born on to the next stage? I’m struggling to find anything anywhere that tells me when to change it over x

Twittlebee you had removed the newborn inserts hadn't you? They can look like part of the seat but they do pull out once they need a bit more room.

Yeah I don't remove the insert (luckily I'm not that dopey haha). Suppose we'd have to get a new car seat anyway and DS is still rear facing and much more comfortable now (plus doesn't cry in the car anymore!)
