Why are teenage girls so mean

I am in bits about how one girl is able to target my daughter so badly. My 14yrold dd has genuinely been a very easygoing, kind and thoughtful child, I have another teenager and know the difference. One other girl seems to indirectly bully her day in day out by making negative comments and criticising, it is a form of bullying that is overlooked and dismissed but can be so harmful, we have advised her to try to ignore her and stay away but she seems to find ways. My dd is very well liked, doing well at school and stays away from trouble, it is starting to affect her though, any advice?

Suggest counselling to the girl who is bullying your daughter. Its a mental health issue bullying and needs an intervention.
